The 2km stretch of Playa Panama’s rock free, smooth, slate-grey sand is perfect for laying back and soaking up the sun. It is also known as Playa Chorotega. Positioned south of Culebra Bay, the swimming conditions at Playa Panama are ideal. The low tides, calm wave breaks, and the nearly perfect year-round weather make this beach an excellent location for activities such as sport fishing, scuba diving and snorkeling, sailing and kayaking.

Over the years, the village of Playa Panama has been a haven for those wanting to get away and be a part of a sleepy community with a peaceful beach nearby.  The area has had little in the way of development until recently.  The region continues to grow and is now home to the renowned El Mangroove Hotel as well as a variety of other hotels offering upscale accommodations.

Good paved roads allow for seamless travel to and from the Daniel Oduber Quiros International Airport in Liberia. In close proximity to the airport and surrounding beaches, such as Playas del Coco & Playa Hermosa, Playa Panama’s location is ideal for those looking to be close to everything but still enjoy the laidback and tranquil atmosphere of a quiet beach community.

Playa Panama is a tranquil getaway and private area and is also one of the friendliest places on the northern Guanacaste shores. The large presence of foreigners fuel the Guanacaste economy, mix easily with locals who have adapted to these visitors and retirees.
